DASH x JES SWEATnesday — How to Design Systems That Employees Actually Want to Use?

Join us for DASH x JES SWEATnesday with Ville Kaisla, Design Director & Co-founder of Taiste Oy, as we explore a question every growing company eventually faces:

How do you design internal tools that people actually want to use, not just tolerate?

Ville will share how Taiste shaped Hesburger’s award-winning employee solutions, which won the Grand One 2025 Best Digital Service award.

He’ll talk about the service design methods behind the project and what it looked like to build the solutions together with the client through hands-on workshops rather than behind closed doors.

He’ll also share concrete examples of how AI is being used both in the design process and in the products being created.

About Ville

Ville is Design Director and Co-founder of Taiste, where he has led digital projects for brands including Hesburger and Suunto. His work with Hesburger combined service design and co-creation with the client’s team to build employee tools that people actually use.

About DASH

DASH is a student-led, design-focused non-profit company based at Aalto Design Factory in Espoo, Finland. It spun out of Aaltoes in 2017 and is now owned by the Finnish Startup Foundation, alongside sister organizations Junction and Slush.

DASH’s main event is The Sprint, an annual design hackathon held every March. During the weekend, student teams work on real-world challenges provided by partner companies.

For Sprint ’27, DASH is expecting around 300 participants and 10 challenge companies, with applications opening in January 2027.

This event brings the DASH design community and JES entrepreneurship community together in Jyväskylä for an evening of design, entrepreneurship, learning and connection.
